Why are we doing a coat drive?
With winter coming up, the weather is starting to cool down, and it gets very cold here in the East Coast. Staying warm may be difficult for those people who live in poverty or are going through a hard time financially.
About 21% of all children in the USA live in poverty. If they can’t keep warm, they suffer from the freezing cold physically, emotionally, and developmentally. They can’t attend school, become prone to illnesses, and other negative effects.
Thus, we want to contribute as much as we can, to support the ongoing effort in caring for our community. All clothing will be donated to New York Cares Coat Drive Warehouse.
Dr. Khaimov and team have put together a program to support the community effort in caring for those who need it while giving dental certificates to patients that want to help too.
We are accepting new or gently used winter coats of any size, but children’s and XL coats are needed the most.
We can all help together!
