THE DANGERS OF GUM DISEASE GO BEYOND THE MOUTH, AFFECTING OVERALL HEALTH
People with gum disease (also known as periodontal disease) have two to three times the risk of having a heart attack, stroke, or other serious cardiovascular event. Gum disease has been linked to the following health problems:

  • Diabetes
  • Heart disease
  • Kidney disease
  • Stroke
  • Alzheimer’s
  • Asthma
  • Osteoporosis
  • Cancer
  • Premature births or  low birth weight babies

White, sparkling teeth are not the only sign of a healthy mouth. Your gums act as a barrier that helps prevent inflammation that may damage your body.

Untreated gum disease can weaken your gums and make them shrink, increasing your risk of losing all teeth someday.

SIGNS OF GUM DISEASE:
Any of these signs can be a clue that you have periodontal disease:

  • Red, swollen or tender gums
  • Gums that bleed easily
  • Pus between the teeth and gums
  • Bad breath
  • Buildup of hard brown deposits along the gum line
  • Loose teeth or teeth that are moving apart
  • Changes in the way dental appliances fit

Dr. Blagoev has been helping Husky House animal shelter.

Why are we helping our local animal shelter?
Due to economic challenges, there are more people unable to keep their pets and giving them to animal shelters.

The animal shelters often receive sick or injured pets.

Thus, we want to contribute as much as we can, to support the community effort in caring for homeless animals.

Dr. Blagoev and team have put together a program to support the community effort in caring for homeless animals.

We can all help together!
